IES25 Conference: Call for Speakers
IES’ annual conference, IES25: The Lighting Conference, is the preeminent conference for all things lighting, from research to design to technology and more—an actual state-of-the-art industry event. Join us for IES25 in Anaheim, CA, 21-23 August 2024, as a speaker for conference sessions, pre-conference workshops, or technical papers & presentations.
We're excited to announce that we are now accepting submissions for IES25! We're on the lookout for dynamic and enthusiastic presenters who can deliver powerful and compelling sessions.

You should have an account already if you have previously submitted to speak at SALC 2023, SALC 2024, IES24, or submitted projects for the Illumination Awards since 2017.

Pre-Conference Workshops
Workshops are 3-4 hours, including hands-on opportunities
This longer format allows for more in-depth exploration of a topic, greater conversation with attendees, and the possibility of hands-on time with materials or equipment, targeted at intermediate to advanced professionals. We welcome alternatives to the traditional lecture-style presentation here. Submission must include a proposed agenda and topics to be covered.
Workshop speakers receive a comped conference registration for up to two speakers per workshop.
Speaker Sessions
Presentations are 60 minutes, including 10-15 minutes for questions
Formats can include interactive sessions, lectures, and roundtable discussions. While the traditional lecture-style presentation is a fine and trusted format, we encourage you to be creative in your approach and welcome submissions that use video, live demonstrations, audience interaction, and other techniques to create new experiences for conference attendees.
Session speakers receive a discounted conference registration of $299 USD for up to two speakers per session.
Peer-Reviewed Conference Papers (Research Track)
Presentations are 30 minutes, including 5-8 minutes for questions
Submitted papers should be 3000 words or less, with a maximum of 10 pages, submitted in a consistent style, 12-point font, double-spaced.
Acceptance decisions will be based on the potential technical quality, originality, impact, and relevance to the conference audience. Papers that have been recently published which would benefit from dissemination to conference attendees through a formal presentation or poster are also encouraged. Peer-reviewed conference papers and their slides will appear in the Conference Proceedings.
Paper presenters receive a discounted conference registration of $299 USD for up to two paper authors.
Technical Presentations (Research Track)
Presentations are 30 minutes, including 5-8 minutes for questions
Refereed by an extended abstract which consists of up to 3 pages (maximum 800 Words). Authors are encouraged to include figures in their abstracts to convey information on details and/or findings that will be covered in the paper. No formal paper will be required for technical presentations accepted under this category.
Acceptance decisions will be based on the potential technical quality, originality, impact, and relevance to the conference audience. The slides for the technical presentations will appear in the Conference Proceedings.
Presenters receive a discounted conference registration of $299 USD for up to two presenters per technical presentation.
Poster Presentations
Presentations are during lunch on Saturday and are open discussions
Posters will be evaluated for inclusion based on the submission of an extended abstract that consists of up to 3 pages (maximum 800 Words). Authors are encouraged to include figures in their abstract to convey information on the details and/or findings that will be covered in the poster. A copy of the poster will appear in the Conference Proceedings.
